There’s good news and bad news about the Fall: The good news is that my mom and I will be doing back to back kick ass shows this month. The bad news is, they are only in new York. But don’t worry! There’s more to come in 2012. So here’s the lineup if you live on the East Coast!
Amber & Bonnie Tamblyn go BOOM:
A Mother-Daughter Evening of Explosive Poetry, Music & Foul Language + Open Mic
Where: One and One Bar & Restaurant (downstairs Nexus Lounge)
76 East 1st Street (corner of 1st Avenue)
Phone: (917) 703-1512
Why you should go to this: Mom and I will be doing a longer set at this compared to the Bowery event. If you want to experience the show we have been performing with each other for the last 2 years in it’s entirety, then this is the show for you. It combines intimate storytelling with new and old works by my mom and I. If you want to get to know our stories and style in a more personal setting, come on down and pull up a front row seat. We’d love to see you there.
Jefferson College performance in Upstate New York! Get your leadership skills on!
What better way to celebrate Leadership Skills than with my mom, a teacher of 20 years? Only this time her skills will be with a guitar, her vocals and telling me to stop cussing (more than once). If you live in the upstate New York area or New England area, come check out our performance at Jefferson College in Watertown, NY. More info HERE!
Shhh…. a very secret something at the opening of The Upright Citizen’s Brigade’s new East location in the East Village!…. More to come…Shhhh….
Bowery Poetry Club Spectacular: Another Word For Word!
The Bowery Poetry Club has been an incredible supporter of the Arts for so long and we are so excited to perform on their stage once again. Derrick Brown, Emily Wells Timmy Straw, me and moms, and special guest Roseanne McAleese will be performing with music and all kinds of rad non-sense. Show starts PROMPTLY at 7pm, so get there a little early!

Why you shoud go to this: Mom and I will be doing a short wild set, filled with all the swear words and whiskey fountains you could dream of. This is a variety show at it’s finest. Derrick Brown will just be returning from his incredible European Tour with Timmy and Emily and you get to see a small chunk of his Opera show, Journey of Impossible Lovers, currated in Holland by the prestigous Noord Danse Collective. Plus an opening cerenade by Seattle’s powerhouse, Roseanne McAleese.
That’s it! But don’t forget…..DRUMS ON NOVEMBER 6TH IN LOS ANGELES….
