Friends and Family,
I want to personally invite you to a fantastic show I and my poetry partner in crime Mindy Netttifee have been asked to curate for the Getty Museum in Los Angeles in support of their Fall exhibition of British watercolors and drawings, Luminous Paper. Here is the official release from the Getty Museum. I hope to see many of your fine faces there.
Presented in collaboration with the Write Now Poetry Society, Dark Blushing, is an evening of poetry, music and art. Some of the brightest stars in contemporary poetry, including Patricia Smith, Ilya Kaminsky Jeffrey McDaniel, Rachel McKibbens, Brendan Constantine and Suzanne Lummis, present new work inspired by the exhibition Luminous Paper: British Watercolors and Drawings. Their performances will be interwoven with lush live music by Portland artist Timmy Straw whose work combines classical training on piano and strings with electronic beats and loops, and a special guest appearance by Marilyn Manson reading the poetry of William Blake. Produced and hosted by actress and author Amber Tamblyn and poet Mindy Nettifee.
The event will be held at the Getty Center in Los Angeles at the Harold M. Williams Auditorium.
Dark Blushing is all ages and admission is free, but reservations must be made!
Reservations open on Tuesday, August 23rd and may be made by calling 310-440-7300, or they can be made online at:
