DRUMS & HOUSE

Dear friends and people who are not into poetry shows,

For the last 4 years, I and an incredible group of folks have worked our lady lumps off to create a non-traditional, non-yawnable, completely unique poetry show experience. Something that showcases different types of powerful writers and performers from all over the country on one stage, for one evening only in Los Angeles. A show that cannot be put into a genre.

If you haven't seen it before and have no idea what I'm talking about, here is a trailer from the documentary that was made about our series. It's really the only way to explain it:

DRUMS TRAILER

I am going to do an arc on the tv show, House. I am nervous and excited. Nervous because I said yes to the gig without actually seeing a script (the writers pitched a character idea), so I have no idea what will happen. I'm going in blind. I've never done that before. I've always been able to make a decision based on material. BUT, I'm excited because Hugh L is an amazing actor and the writing is incredible. And the Executive Producer Katie Jacobs is a kick tush woman. So there. That's all I have to say about it for now.

Love,
Amber

I ended up here at your blog because after I watched House (on the internet today) I had to find out more about you. Russ Tamblyn's daughter--to me that is so cool because West Side Story was a hugely favorite movie when I was young. Anyway, you were great in House. This character is interesting and has depth. So glad you jumped in and took the job. The show is so good. It is the only show other than some PBS stuff that I watch. Don't know if you have ever watched Hugh Laurie in Jeeves and Wooster. Quite a different character than House. Hope Thirteen is gone a long time.

Hi Amber Hope you are having a nice labor day weekend! I live a couple of blocks from Lake Superior in Duluth Minnesota and it turned cold and windy by the big lake they call Kitchagumi! I am and have followed your work for a while now and just love you. I love your poetry and bring it with me when I ride bike by the windy and often Moody lake. Thanks for this new website
I have Facebook and some twitter. I know you don't really like that forum for communication. I will be watching House and ready your new poetry!
