Friends!  Sorry it's been so long since I updated this thing.  A lot has happened in the last several months:  I joined Instagram, I got married, I ate a great sandwhich, 2012 died a horrible death as it deserved to.  The Instagram thing is a big deal as I have a hard time getting into social networking sites.  I know, I sound like your great Grandpappy, Frank.  But it's true.  When everyone was signing up for Facebook, I said, "Hey has anyone tried out this Myspace thing?!  It's amazing!"  Seriously, I'm slow to the bandwagon.  But also, I hate twitter.  If you don't own a copy of Bang Ditto, than you might not know that.  I hate twitter culture and everything that comes with it.  Anyway I started to use Instagram because I like the simple message of a picture, sans any 140 character preciousness or cleverness.

It's going to be a buisy year complete with- fingers crossed- a new book of poems.  A collaberation between myself and Marilyn Manson.  You can READ MORE ABOUT IT HERE.

Also I will be starring in my first Broadway play this Spring- again, fingers crossed as we are still on the hunt for a theater- and I couldn't be more excited.  The play is The Miss Firecracker Contest written by Pulitzer Prize winning Playwright Beth Henley and to be directed by the incredible Judith Ivey.  READ MORE HERE.

Next Wednesday the 20th I will be reading the works of poet Sherman Alexie along side Cynthia Nixon who will be reading the works of Lorrie Moore. Both Alexie and Moore will be in attendance and will be interviewed. It will be a night to remember.  At Symphony Space in New York City. GET YOUR TICKETS HERE!

Dear friends,

So many folks over the last couple of weeks have asked me to make these songs downloadable which I couldn’t do because while I made up the lyrics, the music was not mine.  So I asked my friend Dan The Automator (of Gorillaz and Handsome Boy Modeling School) to write new music for each track and I re-recorded the vocals with some extra new Thugessness added to each one.  (And yes, the Sessions poster is a picture of me from Halloween at age 6 dressed up as a warrior.)

Dan and I threw this together for you (very literally, over night) and we hope you enjoy them, ESPECIALLY because 100% of their proceeds will go directly to The Respect Project, a brand new fund of the 501c3 nonprofit Write Now Poetry Society which will disburse grants to organizations who run creative writing workshops for women and girls and those working to end violence against women, such as The Safe Zone Foundation.  You can donate as much or as little as you want.  Every cent (even if it is literally only a cent) is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
